The US Tax Credit has been extended through 2014

The 25C tax credit for qualifying biomass-fueled appliances has been extended and will now apply to purchases made between January 1, 2014 and December 31, 2014.

The credit was extended under the Tax Increase Prevention Act of 2014 (H.R. 5771), which was signed into law by President Obama on December 19th.

To collect the credit, consumers must attach to their tax return a receipt as well as a manufacturer's certificate stating that the unit qualifies for Section 25C. The credit can be claimed using IRS form 5695 (please see line 22a, "Residential energy property costs - Energy-efficient building property") Consumers can claim up to $300 in purchase and installation costs on stoves that are at least 75% efficient.
